Apple unveiled the new operating system, specially optimised for iPad. Dubbed as iPadOS 13, the OS is based on the iOS 13 with some additional features specifically designed to make the user experience better. Out of every other essential feature, Apple brought the external peripheral support for the new iPadOS. Now that iPadOS is available for 12.9-inch iPad Pro, 11-inch iPad Pro, 10.5-inch iPad Pro, 9.7-inch iPad Pro, iPad (6th generation), iPad (5th generation), iPad mini (5th generation), iPad mini 4, iPad Air (3rd generation) and iPad Air 2. Users can now connect their wired or wireless mouse with their device.

However, despite being advertised as the iPadOS feature, the iPhones running on iOS 13 has also received the mouse support.

Activating mouse support for iPad or iPhone is not as simple as plug-n-play like an Android device and users might have to follow some procedures to enable the feature.

Steps to follow

1. Open Settings on your iPad/iPhone

Backup iPhone and iPod

Backing up and iPhone or iPod is probably the easiest thing on a smartphone. Apple allows users to backup their iOS device either by using iCloud or using iTunes on a PC or Mac. It is essential to reserve your smartphone just before the update, so in case something goes wrong, you will have all your data saved with Apple.

iCloud backup

Apple iCloud backup service is the easiest method and iOS devices keep taking backups on definite intervals. However, in this case, we have to trigger the backup manually.

With the headphone jack gone from almost all the premium smartphones, it’s open season for Bluetooth earphones now. Despite Bluetooth technology advancements that deliver much better sound quality with the addition of various audio codec support and technologies like A2DP and more, there’s still a gap between the audio quality of wired and wireless earphones of a similar price. So in case you already have a pair of Bluetooth earphones and they are not giving appropriate audio quality as you’d like to get, then there’s a workaround that can help boost the audio quality with this small trick.

Having said that, Android smartphones come with the option to change the Bluetooth codec depending upon the earphones you are using and this helps the earphones decode the audio to its maximum potential resulting in much better sound output.

Understanding the Bluetooth codec

Before digging deeper with the steps, it is important to understand codec and how it works. There are several types of Bluetooth codecs used by wireless earphones. The most common is the SBC (Sub Band Codec) which is a universal codec and almost all the Bluetooth audio devices supports this. There are several other more advanced codecs like aptX by Qualcomm which is found in smartphones running Qualcomm Snapdragon processors. Also, Sony has its own codec called LDAC. There’s is another codec called AAC which is used in most of the movie files as the Audio engine.

Codecs are a program which compresses the analogue audio and transmits it to the earphones via Bluetooth and the earphones then decompresses it back to the audio signal. Advance codes like aptX, AAC, LDAC are capable of transmitting a bigger package file at a time and hence results in better audio quality.

However, the key here is the Bluetooth earphones should also support these codecs to take full advantage of it.

Choosing the right codec and how it works

Well, codec support is device-dependent, make sure to check the earphones support page or even box to know what all codecs are supported. Most of the cheap Bluetooth earphones support only SBC or maximum AAC and codecs like LDAC and aptX is limited to some relatively expensive Bluetooth earphones.

In most of the cases, if the headphone supports Qualcomm’s aptX, the device automatically switches to aptX but in case of other codecs like LDAC or AAC, this needs to be done manually.

While there are enough tutorials and tips to prevent spammers from entering your email inbox, messages and social media feeds, this is what you need to do to prevent them from attacking your calendar.

But before we tell you the necessary steps. Here’s what you need to understand. In case you’re wondering how spammers can spam your Google Calendar, here’s how they do it.

In case you aren’t aware, both your Gmail and Google Calendar services are integrated with each other. This means that whenever you book flight tickets and get it on Gmail or when some sends you an invitation, all that info is extracted automatically and is added in your calendar. The spammer takes advantage of this ‘auto-integration’ by sending you a fraudulent invite on Gmail, which automatically gets saved on your Calendar.

But here’s how you can prevent that from happening:

2. On the top right corner, click on the gear icon

3. Click on the ‘Settings’ option.

4. Click the arrow next to ‘General’ to view options.

5. Click on ‘Event settings’ or ‘Events from Gmail’.

6. Uncheck the automatically add invitations event settings as it will be enabled by default. Confirm from the pop-up window.

And voila, you’re done. This is prevent auto adding the invite date to Calendar. Instead it will only add the invitation to Google Calendar when you reply to that invitation.
