Huawei has finally confirmed the date of the unveiling of its the next flagship smartphone series, Mate 30. The Chinese company will launch Huawei Mate 30 and the Mate 30 Pro smartphones on September 30 in Munich Germany. The duo are successors to last year’s Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro smartphones. The two smartphones have been making the rounds on the web in the form of rumours and leaks since quite some time. The handsets' front and back sides have also been seen in leaked shots. And a part of it has been confirmed by the company in the latest teaser.
On social media, Huawei has posted a short teaser video of the upcoming smartphones along with the launch date. The post not only mentions Huawei Mate 30 in the hashtag. Interestingly, this is not a part of the IFA Berlin 2019 conference, which will take place from September 6-11.

The teaser video also mentions ‘Huawei Mate30 Series’ and shows a circular animated design, which appears to be the same design that we’ve seen in one of the leaked images for the rear camera setup. A recent image that hit the web, showed the alleged Mate 30 smartphone with a bold, circular camera setup at the back that includes four sensors. The flash can be seen on the top left side.
From the recently leaked images, the smartphone is supposed to feature a waterfall screen design, which is similar to that of what flagship Samsung smartphones have but slightly more extended to the sides, leaving minimal bezels on top and bottom only.
Although these two are expected to be beefy specced and powerful, the bigger still looming is its relationship with Google and the ability to use Android OS. The firm has already unveiled its Android alternative called HarmonyOS but has not yet confirmed which device will get it first. There’s also no clarity if the Mate 30 series will get future Android updates or not.
